Francisco Parames of Cobas Asset Management offered allocators and fund managers insights into his strategy during a recent fireside conversation. Speaking at The Ben Graham Centre’s 5th European Value Investing Conference on the panel titled, “My Experience As a Long Term Investor”, which took place on October 14th 2025 in Lisbon Portugal. Parames articulated a core philosophy that prioritizes investor temperament and rigorous position sizing above pure analytical skill. His main thesis posits that successful long-term investing requires adapting value principles to focus on quality, capitalizing on market structural changes (like the rise of passive indexing), and maintaining strict discipline, particularly when dealing with undervalued small- and mid-cap European and Asian assets.
