When considering the panoply of potential noncorrelated investments, allocators often turn to quantitative offerings and CTA strategies. But Hoboken, NJ-based Barnegat Fund Management is putting that notion to the test. The fixed-income relative value strategy violates many of the traditional rules that the strategy would imply as it exhibits almost no correlation to the bond or stock markets. After a few years of poor performance, the fund is back in 2017, up 15.17% after the second half, according to a fund document reviewed by ValueWalk.
