Sohn New York 2024: Short-Selling Panelists on Three Opportunities

In recent years, the hedge-fund community has begun to debate whether short selling is a dying strategy. However, a small number of managers continue to be successful with their short strategies.

At the 2024 Sohn New York Conference, Chris Drose from Bleecker Street Research, Nate Koppikar from Orso Partners, and Fahmi Quadir from Safkhet Capital participated in a short-selling panel moderated by Carter Simonds of Four Pines.

Drose introduced his short thesis for Sealed Air (NYSE:SEE), a company he's been researching for a long time. He noted that Amazon is trying to move away from single-use plastic bubble wrap, and if Amazon goes one way, so does the rest of the e-commerce industry.
