Sohn Hong Kong 2024 is in the books, and it brought some really interesting investing ideas from some of the best hedge-fund managers, not just for Asia but around the world. James Smith of Palliser Capital pitched his bull case for Rio Tinto PLC. Palliser Capital is a London-based multi-strategy fund with equity and debt positions across global markets. The fund launched in 2021 and manages about $1 billion in asset under management. Smith was formerly the head of Elliott Management’s Hong Kong division.
