Following up their recent “Future of the Consumer” conference, were major retailers vocalized reasons why certain business models were not subject to being disrupted by Amazon, a Cowen research note takes the opposite approach. It considered the retail apocalypse from the standpoint of those most vulnerable to Amazon disruption in a May 25 report. It wasn't only Amazon that was a threat to stores such as Macys, but traditional department stores are also losing market share to off-price retailers.
