As the U.S. debates opening up its doors to largely Syrian refugees, following the lead of generous European nations such as Germany, the notable absence of Arab Gulf states offering to house refugees is more than curious. The issue, however, could have been explained by a retired professor of political science from University of the United Arab Emirates as the regional crisis continues to inflame the "most violent region in the world."
