A battle regarding the tenure of Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Mary Jo White is taking shape over a commissioner appointment, ValueWalk sources close to the situation have said. The nomination of Covington & Burling lawyer Keir Gumbs, who is a corporate and securities partner and was counsel to a former SEC commissioner, has raised the ire of reformers.
