New York, October 1, 2025 – In a year many have called the death of value investing, RPD Fund Management’s Opportunity Fund has delivered standout results, reminding investors of the enduring power of contrarian deep-value discipline.
The RPD Opportunity Fund finished September at 3.79% net, bringing year-to-date performance to 41.23%. Since inception in February 2021, the Fund has compounded at more than 16.9% net annually - all during one of the toughest environments for value investors in decades.
“Contrarian investing is never easy, but it works over the long run,” said Ahmet Okumus, CIO of RPD Fund Management. “We’ve achieved strong results with strict discipline; our outright U.S. equity long exposure has averaged only 21% since inception. That discipline — investing only when valuations truly disconnect from fundamentals — is what sets us apart.”
The strategy combines in-depth, bottom-up stock research with fully cash-secured option structures, designed to generate income and create attractive entry points while preserving capital. With 94% of trades since inception ending profitably, including the majority of options written expiring worthless, the Opportunity Fund has shown how disciplined value investing can consistently generate returns.
Okumus added: “We remain patient when opportunities are scarce, decisive when markets dislocate, and always aligned with our investors — with internal capital represent 40% of our AUM.”
The Opportunity Fund’s roots trace back to Okumus Capital, where Sir John Templeton anchored the early fund in the late 1990s. That same deep-value DNA now powers RPD’s current strategies, including the RPD Fortress Fund - a conservative, low-volatility vehicle that has delivered 10.23% net annualized returns with just 1.78% volatility and 3.45 sharp ratio since inception.
Together, the two strategies offer investors a balanced approach to equity investing: high-conviction contrarian value through Opportunity, and stable, uncorrelated returns through Fortress.
