McDonald's is not pursuing the idea of hiving off its property into real-estate investment trust, and the fast-food chain also unveiled a 5% increase to its dividend for the fourth quarter.

At an analysts’ day meeting on Tuesday, Steve Easterbrook, McDonald's chief executive, said after a thorough study, the company has decided a REIT would be too risky to its business model.
