FTX, one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world, teeters on the edge of collapse as executives try to engineer a bailout. However, there is much more to the world of digital currencies than just currency. Blockchain technology presents a multitude of possibilities within asset management, including tokenization.

Blockchain experts say it's only a matter of time before asset tokenization becomes commonplace. In fact, one estimate suggests the asset tokenization market could be worth $16 trillion by 2030, and now a growing number of blockchain enthusiasts are sharing their concepts.

What Is Asset Tokenization?

At the 2022 Future of Asset Management Europe Conference hosted by the Financial Times, Varun Atre of global funds network Calastone described his vision for tokenizing assets. He emphasized that there is much more to tokenization than just cryptocurrency.
