Thanks to several converging forces, consumerism in the U.S. healthcare industry is set to be active, with patients expected to become more involved in healthcare decision-making than ever before, notes McKinsey.

After surveying over 11,000 people across the country, Jenny Cordina, Rohit Kumar, and Christa Moss of McKinsey published their December 2015 report titled: “Debunking common myths about healthcare consumerism” to highlight how increased healthcare consumerism may impact payers and providers.
