Carlyle Group is teaming up with TCW Group to offer three mutual funds that provide ordinary investors access to hedge fund-like bets, a recent regulatory filing reveals.

As an adviser for the three new mutual funds, TCW will employ Carlyle’s hedge-fund team, known as Liquid Markets Solutions, to make investments.
