Bridgewater Files With SEC For Bridgewater Optimal Portfolio

It is now official. Bridgewater Associates is launching a third hedge fund, as has been rumored and reported for the past several months.

According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing filed December 11, Bridgewater Associates is filing for a notice of exempt offering of securities, namely the Bridgewater Optimal Portfolio, LLC.  Offerings targeted to sophisticated professional investors, such as this Bridgewater offering, are “exempt” from the same regulatory scrutiny that is often heaped upon securities targeted towards non-professional or “unqualified” investors.
