Jeffrey Ubben’s ValueAct Capital Master Fund returned 9% net for Q2, for a year-to-date net return of 4%. Roblox has been the fund’s best-performing position year to date. ValueAct initially invested in the game platform two years ago due to its creator-driven ecosystem, monetization potential and the vision of founder and CEO Dave Baszucki.

In their Q2 letter to investors, which was obtained by Hedge Fund Alpha, the ValueAct team reported that they’ve built a robust working relationship with Baszucki as their thesis has remained intact, even growing stronger amid Roblox’s “evolving approach to AI, personalization and platform curation.”
