This Top Long/Short Equity Fund Is Winning Big On The Long Side

Southpoint Capital's Qualified Fund rose 11.7% net for the second quarter, bringing its year-to-date gain to 10.1%. Its Qualified Offshore Fund also rose 11.7% net, bringing its year-to-date return to 10%.

For comparison, the S&P 500 rose 8.7% in the second quarter for a year-to-date return of 16.9%, while the Russell 2000 was up 5.2%, bringing its year-to-date return to 8.1%. The HFRI Equity Hedge Index rose 3.1% for the quarter and 5.7% for the first half.

Since the inception in July 2004, the Southpoint Qualified Fund is up 560.3%, and the Southpoint Qualified Offshore Fund has gained 540.9%.
