This Fund Smashed The Commodity Index In 2022 As Goldman Predicts A 2023 Surge

Statar Capital returned an impressive 15.96% for December, bringing its 2022 return to 30.13%, driven by the fact that commodities were the best-performing asset class in 2022. According to Goldman Sachs, the index that tracks commodity prices rose only 8% in 2022 once all was said and done.

A Banner Year For Commodities

Commodity funds like Statar Capital, which has nearly $3.5 billion in assets under management, enjoyed a robust 2022 as commodity prices skyrocketed in the first half of the year. However, as the year went on, commodities tumbled in the second half of the year.
