Steamboat Capital’s Favorite Short Positions Are Companies With Poor ESG Ratings

The Steamboat Capital Partners Fund returned 7.3% gross and 5.4% net in the second quarter of 2021, according to a copy of the firm's quarterly investor update, which ValueWalk has been able to review.

Following this performance, the long/short equity hedge fund has returned 8.8% year-to-date, compared to 15.3% for the S&P 500 and nearly 6% for the CS Hedge Fund Index. Since its inception (July 2012), Steamboat Capital has returned 11.5% annualized.

For the six months ending June 30, Steamboat's average long gross exposure was 117.2%, and average short gross exposure was 42.9% for total gross exposure 160%.
