Most Of Maverick Capital’s 2022 Loss Came From This One Stock [Exclusive]

Lee Ainslie's Maverick USA fund lost 3% in the fourth quarter, bringing its full-year return to -25.5%, while the Maverick Levered fund returned -5% for the quarter to cap its 2022 return at -48.1%. The Maverick Long fund gained 4.9% for the fourth quarter for a 2022 return of -27.2%, while the Maverick Long Enhanced fund returned 3.7% for the quarter, bringing its full-year return to -30.1%.

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 was up 7.6% for the fourth quarter for a 2022 return of -18.1%, while the MS World Index returned 9.8% for the quarter and -18.1% for 2022. A blend of the two indexes returned 8.7% for the quarter and -18.1% for 2022.
