Hawk Ridge Management returned 1.3% in 2022, according to a copy of the hedge fund's annual investor letter, which ValueWalk has been able to review.

This positive performance is a strong result in what was an incredibly challenging year for equity investors.

Last year the S&P 500 fell 18.1%, while the Russell 2000 declined 20.4%. Most equity hedge funds lost money last year in this environment.

However, Hawk Ridge outperformed and, in doing so, marked its 14th consecutive year of generating a positive absolute investment return. Since its inception 17 years ago, the partnership has returned 12% annualized net of fees.
