Gator Financial Partners, a long/short equity hedge fund with $85 million of assets under management produced a return of 48.08% for its investors net of fees during 2016 according to the fund’s fourth-quarter and full-year letter to investors, a copy of which has been reviewed by ValueWalk. This impressive yearly performance takes the fund’s cumulative return since inception (July 2008) to 598.56% with an annual compound return of 25.7%.

Since inception, the fund managed by Derek Pilecki, CFA has reported an annualized volatility of 26.35% a Sharp ratio of 0.88% and a maximum drawdown of 34.8%. For some comparison, since July 2008 the S&P 500 Total Return Index has produced an annualized return of 9.16%.
