Chilton Capital Management’s REIT Hedge Fund Adds 31% In 2019

Chilton Capital Management's REIT strategy produced a total return of 29.8% net of fees in 2019, according to a copy of the firm's third-quarter performance update, a copy of which has been reviewed by ValueWalk.

On a gross basis, Chilton's REIT Composite index returned 30.9%, compared to a total return of 25.8% for the MSCI US REIT Index. Since inception, the Chilton REIT Composite has produced a compound annual return of 9.9% with a Sharpe ratio of 0.4, and a standard deviation of 21.2%. That's compared to an annual return of 7.9% for its benchmark and 9% for the S&P 500.

According to the firm's December update, the positive performance, finishing 503 basis points above the benchmark on a gross basis...
