Carlson Capital's Double Black Diamond fund declined six basis points in December, capping its net return for 2022 at 6.38%. In December the fund's equity relative value and event-driven strategies generated robust results, along with the center book, which combines trades from both strategies.
The fund's hedges also added a "small amount of P&L" for the month. However, the fund's strategic investments more than offset the gains from the other strategies as its largest position tumbled during the last two weeks of the year.
