Trump’s promises to rekindle US economic growth, cut regulation and lower the country’s corporate tax rate to 20% has sent all of the major US stock indices to all-time highs in the months following his election.

This rally has sent a short interest across the market plunging. As ZeroHedge pointed out last month, heading into the end of 2016 short interest the US, the S&P 500 dropped to its lowest level since early 2014 while the plunge in total NYSE Short interest looks similar to that of late 2009 when the markets started to recover after the peak of the financial crisis.
