Seth Klarman is probably the best value investor live today (excluding Buffett who has moved away from value in recent years), and he is prepared to look for value wherever it may be found.

However, the one area of the investment world he wants to avoid at all costs is the passive universe. Indeed, while Warren Buffett has before advocated the use of index funds and passive investments for investors who don't have the time and experience to pick stocks themselves, Klarman has never recommended these products and believes that they are a danger to the financial world.
