Markets have become so short term focused that there is now a real opportunity for long term investors to outperform, that’s the main take away from a March 16 research note from the quant team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Wall Street’s drive for fast profits is well known and the seismic shift in assets and resources towards data driven, fast money strategies during the past decade, has attracted plenty of attention.
