Anyone who has spent a lot of time studying the career of Warren Buffett will know there have been several occasions over the past eight decades where he has made a notable shift in direction towards a different style of investing.

Perhaps the most important was his decision to acquire See’s Candy.

See’s was acquired through Blue-Chip stamps, another business Buffett had bought control of with his business partner Charlie Munger.

Blue-Chip is an important part of the story as it provided the capital to acquire the candy business in the first place.
