Bob Bishop vs Viking Global? Shorts in some metals and mineral companies have stood their ground over the years, according to disclosures made to the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority. One such bet is Andreas Halvorsen's short in Rio Tinto, a major mineral miner.

Halvorsen's Viking Global has a 0.8% short position in Rio Tinto, which implies a $437 million bet that shares of the company will fall. Currently Viking Global is the only firm shorting the miner's shares after initially disclosing the position in April 2015.
