According to Agecroft Partners' 13th annual predictions for the biggest trends in the hedge fund industry for 2022, the macro hedge fund sector could benefit from a shift away from fixed income assets this year as allocators try to diversify their portfolios into uncorrelated hedge fund strategies.

The sector could also benefit from increasing interest in cryptocurrencies. The crypto market surpassed $3 trillion in market capitalization during the 4th quarter of 2021, which puts it nearly on par with the global hedge fund industry in terms of overall assets under management.
