Walter Schloss is a legend in the value investing world. Born in 1916, Schloss experienced first-hand the evolution of the stock market from a speculators' paradise to a place where experienced and intelligent investors tried to take advantage of market opportunities and buy securities trading at a discount to their intrinsic value.
Schloss also trained under Benjamin Graham, who is widely considered to be the Godfather of value investing. His first book, Security Analysis, is one of the handful of examples from the period that layout a new style of investing based on the fundamental analysis of securities to establish their true worth.
