James Dinan is known as the founder of York Capital Management, which was 2019 managing about $19 billion in AUM. Since then, Dinan decided to wind down most of the company’s hedge fund operations.
However, this didn’t reflect on the Dinan Family Foundation, which he founded in 1997. The goals of the foundation are aimed at funding noble causes in education, arts & culture, athletics, and health initiatives.
For 2024, the fund filed a 990 disclosing $5.49 million in expenses, net income of $6.81 million, while net assets reached $62.90 million. Total revenue was $12.31 million.
The foundation earned from interest on savings and temporary cash investments brought $339 thousand; dividends and interests from securities delivered an additional $1.02 million, while net gain from asset sales was $10.91 million.
