Thornburg Investment Management is a big name in the investing business with over $44 billion in AUM. The founder of the firm is Garrett Thornburg, who is also known for his diversified and constant work in the philanthropic sector.
Besides running a successful hedge fund, he also founded the Thornburg Foundation in 1999. He and his team in the foundation are looking to tackle multiple community-serving goals, including investing in public education, government reform, sustainable agriculture, and water sources.
In the latest 990 form, the foundation reported a revenue of $12.63 million. Through the year they accumulated $7.62 million of expenses, a net income of $5.01, and book value net assets of $141.62 million.
