David Tepper founded Appaloosa Management in early 1993, and three years later he initiated his foundation. He named the foundation David Tepper Charitable Foundation, and it has several key directions of operations.
The first on the list is providing quality housing, food supply, and availability of health services. The foundation is also keen on creating a community impact, particularly in New Jersey. Current programs include economic mobility and community empowerment.
The foundation has been heavily invested in combating the COVID-19 pandemic since it began. Also, it focuses its efforts on all sorts of major crises. This segment is supplemented by addressing climate sustainability. Another focal point is funding and organizing pro-democracy and anti-hate initiatives.
