At last year's Sohn conference, David Einhorn of Greenlight Capital made two recommendations. The first, to short the “mother frackers,” received plenty of attention and anyone following Einhorn into the trade would have made a healthy profit.

Along with Pioneer Natural Resources, which was described as the “mother fracker,” Einhorn recommended shorting a number of other frackers including Concho Resources, Whiting Petroleum, Continental Resources and EOG Resources, down 10%, 73%, 33%, and 20% respectively.
