Value Invest New York: Artisan Partners’ David Samra on Why He Seeks Savvy Mgmt with Lots of Cash

Conference season in the investment industry is nearing its end, but this week saw Value Invest New York, a key event for value investors. Among the presenters was David Samra of Artisan Partners, who believes investing outside the U.S. is not only "terrific" and "fun" but also lends itself to value investing.

Quoting one of the most famous value investors of all time, Samra said the recently passed Charlie Munger is exceptionally patient, preferring to hold his capital until he had access to tremendous opportunities. Of course, part of being patient is watching and waiting to see what companies do with the cash pile they've been secretly sitting on.
