Value Invest New York: Turtle Creek’s Andrew Bretton on Applying PE Strategy to Public Equities

The 2023 Value Invest New York conference is in the books, bringing with it some excellent ideas and advice for value investors. Andrew Bretton of Turtle Creek shared some interesting notes about applying private-equity strategies to publicly traded companies.

Applying PE strategies to publicly traded companies

Bretton's background is in PE, and many of Turtle Creek's clients like PE. However, Bretton thinks where they are in the public-equities market is a much better place to be. In fact, his Turtle Creek Synthetic PE Fund is a sub-strategy that apples PE strategies to publicly traded companies.
