Clint Carlson is well-known as the founder of Carlson Capital and is also with his wife, managing their family foundation. The Carlson Foundation is focused on helping initiatives in the spheres of education, healthcare, and community development. 

The foundation filed a 990 form in November 2023, from which they reported total revenue of $907 thousand. Expenses reached $1.43 million, net income was negative $524 thousand, while book value net assets were $15.65 million.

Clint and Nancy Carlson donated $145 thousand to the foundation, while dividends and interest from securities brought $59 thousand.

The foundation reported a capital gain from the disposition of Cove Key Offshore Fund ($28 thousand), and Black Diamond Ltd ($139 thousand) (likely his Black Diamond hedge fund).
