Mohnish Pabrai first opened his funds to outside money in 1999 with a little over $1 million in assets under management. He couldn't have picked a better time to start his career as an investment manager. Around 12 months after Pabrai funds first opened its doors, the dot-com bubble burst, and over the next three years, the S&P 500 lost more than 50% of its value.
