Not investing related, but a deep and detailed look from another angle of how ads work on people by exploring the theory of emotional inception and cultural imprinting in advertisement.
- Emotional inception: ads implanting ideas in your mind to make you feel something when you see a product/service, compelling them to buy.
- Cultural imprinting:more social in nature. When you see an ad that you think, it imparts a positive feeling or association. You buy that product so you'd get the same positive association from the people around you. It's similar to cultural or social signaling.
