The rise in interest rates following the election of Donald Trump is starting to rile the equity markets, a November 15 Nomura research report observed. The markets are moving from being driven by the surprise election to the prospect of US rate hikes – including several in 2017 – and bond markets in Japan are being impacted. Where the Trump administration influence might be prominently felt is in the currency markets.
