The most sought after names in the hedge fund industry are set to speak once again at Ira Sohn Conference this year. Jeffrey Smith from Starboard Value, famous for his numerous activist battles with companies will be speaking today at Sohn 2016. His recent conquests include Darden Restaurants, Yahoo Inc and Marvel Technology Corp. Smith left Darden Restaurant's board in April this and sold over 40% of Starboard's stake in the restaurant company. Starboard largest positions at the end of 2015 were in, Advance AutoParts, Yahoo and WestRock Co and the long portfolio has the highest concentration in consumer discretionary and finance industry.
