Luis Stuhlberger is one of Brazil's best hedge fund managers, perhaps even the best. His flagship hedge fund Verde has returned an average of 29% a year, after fees, since it was founded in 1997. That's compared to a return of 10% per annum for the wider Brazilian market and 16% per annum for Brazil's main bond market.

This year Verde, which is known for its macro bets, is set for yet another good year. According to the hedge fund's November letter to investors, reviewed by ValueWalk, through the end November, the fund is up 27.4% for the year.
