“We’re Still Decembrists,” Goldman Sachs analyst Jan Hatzius proclaimed in a research note released Monday morning. In his analysis Hatzius predictably discussed economic indicators and took on strong statements from Federal Reserve Vice Chair Stanley Fischer earlier in the morning. But is what Hatzius didn’t discuss the most compelling reason for raising rates in September? That reason is Bernie Sanders on the left and Donald Trump on the right.
