Technical trading vs. fundamental analysis is an age old argument and neither side shows any sign of backing down anytime soon.

Still, disagreements make a market and the science behind technical trading is extremely interesting.

A quick search on base-search.net returns more than 1,000 academic papers on the topic of technical trading. Specifically, the profitability of technical trading. So, there is a wealth of scientific information available on the subject.

But it would be highly misleading for me to attempt to cramp all of the research into one, or even two articles. With that in mind, I’m going to take a look at several research papers over a series of five articles, to see if the science behind technical trading shows that...
