While many fund managers and institutional investors might be taking a December holiday vacation, the tendency is for this to be one of the most positive months of the year for stocks. Most major U.S markets observe a similar schedule, half day on Wednesday and Friday and a full day off on Thursday. There is a slight variance on international market schedules. Markets around the world are closed New Years Day.
