Bridgewater Associates thinks the European Central Bank’s efforts to implement U.S.-style quantitative easing will not meet with the same success, according to an investment strategy note reviewed by ValueWalk.

Bridgewater sees a different between the U.S. and European credit markets

In the secretive hedge fund’s “Daily Observations” report dated September 11, a significant difference between the structure of the U.S. credit markets and that in Europe is likely to be a stumbling block the ECB will need to overcome.

At issue is the region’s lack of a non-banking infrastructure and its dependence on small business.
