Value stocks have significantly underperformed growth stocks since the financial crisis. According to research from asset management giant BlackRock, 2017 was the sixth worst calendar year for value since in the 1920s, and the strategy's performance in the first half of 2018 was the fourth worst on record and the most substantial drawdown since the dot.com bubble.
