Kevin Martelli, a value investor, based in Switzerland, has conducted a study of “multi-bagger” stocks, which he defines as those that have risen in value by more than ten times over the past 15 years.
His research shows that of the 21,000 listed companies around today (market cap. of at least $100 million), approximately 18% have achieved 15x returns from their low point over the past 15 years (till April 2014).
Of this sample, Mr. Martelli selected a sample "of 'more predictable' multi-bagger stocks, which a rational and long term oriented investor had a 'reasonable chance' to identify, purchase and hold over the long term."
