This year’s SALT iConnection Conference gathered top experts in the asset management industry to discuss policy, alpha and more. One of the panels held on 21 May in New York was titled "Outsourced Alternatives: How Leading Investment Platforms Evaluate Talent and Generate Alpha featuring Edoardo Rulli, Chief Investment Officer, UBS Hedge Fund Solutions, Mark Anson, PhD, CFA, CAIA, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer, Commonfund, Sam Rosenstock, Deputy Chief Investment Officer of External Alpha, Man Group, and Sona Menon, Partner and Outsourced Chief Investment Officer of Cambridge Associates.
This was a very interesting panel and had a lot of great insights.
The moderator was perfect for the topic, Rich Bello. Bello in his own words " I'm a tiger Odie from Julian Robertson, the original tiger. A lot of tigers out there. I worked with Julian Robertson and his analysts. His analysts then became tiger cubs. He was very prolific. There's people like Lee Ainslie. Steve Mandel, Andreas Halverson, Viking Global, Lone Pine cetera. And then I co founded Blue Ridge capital with the president of Tiger John Griffin. I had a nice run for 20 years, and then I founded a firm called the Rooftop and a Rooftop is all about maximizing potential elite performance and such."
