Silver Point Capital’s Robert O’Shea Invests His Foundation’s Money in Crypto and These Funds

Many well-known hedge fund managers distribute their millions or billions via their own foundations, including Robert O’Shea, founding partner and chairman of Silver Point Capital.

According to the 990-PF for 2023, which was filed in September 2024, the O’Shea Family Foundation had $56.4 million in assets at the end of the year. Robert O’Shea and his wife Michele serve as trustees for the foundation.

Capital gains and losses

For tax on investment income, the O’Shea Family Foundation reported a gain of about $120,000 from Thebes Partners Offshore. Thebes Partners is a hedge fund managed by Luxor Capital with about $80.3 million in assets under management.
