From Setback to Surge: Westbeck Volta Fund Bounces Back with 11.3% Q2 Gains

After a difficult first quarter that saw a -5.26% loss, the Westbeck Volta fund rebounded strongly in Q2 with an 11.3% gain. This performance, driven by a +4.47% return in June, bringing the fund’s year-to-date returns to 5.94%.

The hedge fund was founded in 2016 by Will Smith (ex-CQS) and Jean Louis Le Mee (ex-BlueGold and Abydos). According to fund documents, the core of its strategy is investing in “energy transition” companies. Finding the right timing in the market cycle of every individual sector is an approach to generating positive gains.
